Unit Description

To enable the learner acquire the necessary skills to perform records management functions in registries, records centers and other information centers.

Summary of Learning Outcomes

At the end of the course, the learner should be able to:

i. Initiate and direct a records management programme for their organization.

ii. Apply  concepts and principles and functions of records management

iii. Plan, design, and operate viable registry, records centres and archival systems.

iv. Demonstrate an understanding of the various records filing, classification and metadata schemes.

v. Prepare and implement a records retention /disposal scheme

vi. Explain components of international standard for Information and documentation – records management

vii. Explain the contemporary issues in records management
